Report Cards

Evaluation and Grading

Performance in a credit course is evaluated by a percentage and a letter grade. Success on assignments, projects and tests will determine your score. Each instructor will issue a list of requirements at the beginning of the course and will explain how your marks will be earned.

Report Cards

A report card will be issued, approximately two to three weeks after the final date of the course end date. If you write a provincial exam, you will have only your class mark on your report. Your provincial exam mark from the Ministry of Education is available approximately 6 weeks after the exam.

Report cards are issued 4 times in the school year.

Report card issue dates:

Semester 1: Nov. 20, 2009 | Feb. 10, 2010
Semester 2: Apr. 20, 2010 | June 29, 2010

Provincial Exams

All students under 19 years of age and all adults registered in the Credit Based Graduation program are required to write provincially examinable subjects. Grade 10 exam marks are worth 20% of the final grade and grade 12 marks are worth 40% of the final grade. Adults in the Adult Education Program have the option of not writing provincial exams. However, in many cases a post-secondary institution may require a provincial exam mark.

Adults enrolled in provincially examinable courses will be automatically enrolled in the Provincial Exam unless the WCLT office or counsellor is otherwise notified. If you do not wish to write the provincial exam, please contact the office at least two months prior to the exam date.
