What's Happening at the WestShore Teaching Garden

Introducing our new Garden Coordinator - Keeley Nixon
Thanks to a VanCity Community Project grant, this year, from March to October, Keeley Nixon will take on the task of coordinating the various projects and groups using the WestShore Teaching Garden, including school and youth groups and community volunteers. Keeley has worked as a farm manager for James Island Organic Garden, volunteered on numerous farms, is a board member of SOIL (Stewards of Irreplaceable Land ) and LLAFF (Linking Land And Future Farmers) and is presently project coordinator for the Sooke Region Farm Mentorship Program. If you would like to share your knowledge of gardening and food growing, or simply wish to volunteer to help out, you can contact Keeley at westshore.teaching.garden@gmail.com or leave a message at 250-391-9002.

Poem by Jump Ahead student - Caleb Geauvreau
