Westshore Centre is hosting a parent & student information session on Thursday, May 16th from 6:30pm to 7:30pm at 814 Goldstream Avenue. The session will cover the cohort programs available to students from grades 9 to 12. This will be an opportunity to learn about the advantages of secondary cohort programs. Advantages like smaller class sizes, fewer transitions and teacher contacts, increased engagement with community, and blended learning strategies that teach students to access and utilize technology in meaningful and creative ways, inspiring students to demonstrate their learning and satisfy their curiosity and passions. Are you graduating in 2013?
Our Graduation Ceremony will take place on Friday, June 7th from 4:30pm – 6:30pm at the Isabelle Reader Theatre at Spencer Middle School. Please complete the Graduation Ceremony form you received in your April report card and return it with your $25 deposit to the WestShore office as soon as possible. We have 75 spots available for the ceremony and those will be filled on a first come first served basis. If you did not receive a form, you can pick one up at our office. Summer Learning Opportunities being offered at WestShore in July/August 2013. Students returning to their current high school in September 2013 should meet with their school counsellor to complete a cross-enrolment registration form. Students not returning to their current high school and those who have completed their graduation should call the office (250-391-9002) and make an appointment to see our academic advisor to register for any of these options.
Monday March 18th – Friday March 22nd is Spring Break in School District #62. Teachers are on holidays during this time and will not be responding to mail messages or marking assignments in their online courses. Students are welcome to continue working on their online courses during this time, however teachers will be unavailable. Any assignments completed during the break will be marked in the order that they were received starting on March 25th.
The StoreFront Learning Support Room will also be closed for the duration of the holiday and will re-open with the rest of the district on Monday, March 25th.
